Credentials & Experience in Implant Dentistry

Dr. Robert S. Wright is one of only a few American Board Certified Prosthodontists practising in the UK. He received his first degree in dentistry from the University of St. Andrews. Dr. Wright received is specialist training in advanced prosthodontics at the University of Southern California and became a lecturer in restorative dentistry at UCLA. He has been involved in implant dentistry for 15 years. Surgical training in implant dentistry has been gained in America and Europe notably throught the Royal College of Surgeons, England.

Dr. Wright has 20 years of clinical practice experience in California and Canada and now 5 years in England.

Implant dentistry is the field where most litigation occurs. The surgical procedure is very successful with rates exceeding 95%. The prosthodontic procedure of planning, designing and fitting the restoration is where most of the failures occur. There is no specialty of implant dentistry. Implant reconstructive dentistry falls within the specialty of prosthodontics. Authentic University post-graduate credentials are the consumer's assurance of advanced training.

The General Dental Council is the licensing and regulatory body for dentists in the United Kingdom. Dr. Robert S. Wright adheres to the the GDC Standards for Dental Professionals.

Dr. Robert S. Wright was registered with the General Dental Council on August 10, 2001 as a Specialist in Prosthodontist and licensed to practise in the UK #49308. Dr. Wright received his first degree in dentistry from the University of Dundee in 1975 and his post-graduate degrees and specialist certificate from the University of Southern California from 1995 to 2000. Dr. Wright became a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics in 2005.
