Fixed Dental Implant Prosthodontics

Patients generally approach their prosthodontist seeking fixed implant restorations. In most situations this is possible. Sometimes however supplemental grafting is required.

Implant crown and bridge restorations can be cemented to the implants as in the picture above or attached with screws. Screw-retained restorations have unsightly access holes in the middle of the crown. We never use screw-retained implant crowns.

Surgery is only part of the equation in implant dentistry. Knowledge and skill in prosthodontics is essential if the restoration is to be aesthetically pleasing and a functional success.

Custom-made zirconium abutments provide better aesthetics to the restoration.
