Implant reconstructive dentistry requires specialist training in prosthodontics and advanced surgical skills. We use the best dental implants and a top dental laboratory permitting us to provide excellent restorations and prostheses.
TITANIUM & ZIRCONIUM DENTAL IMPLANTS
Achieving an aesthetic result with a dental implant restoration or prosthesis remains the most challenging task in implant dentistry requiring knowledge and skill in prosthodontics and oral surgery. The use of zirconium in dental implant restorations can improve aesthetics. Zirconium white dental implants may be used in place of titanium dental implants in certain clinical situations.
IMPLANT DENTIST
There is no recognised specialty of implant dentistry. Implant dentist is just a descriptive term. A general dentist with limited surgical training can place dental implants. Patients requesting dental implants really want prosthetic/replacement teeth. These can be crowns, bridges or implant-retained dentures. This branch of dentistry is called prosthodontics. Reconstructive dentistry requires specialty training in prosthodontics. A Prosthodontist is a Specialist in Reconstructive Dentistry. American Board Certification is the International Gold Standard in Medicine and Dentistry.

The reason for the aesthetic difficulty is that tooth loss is accompanied by loss of bone and gum. Where the tissue loss is minor creative prosthodontics can achieve an aesthetic result. In moderate to severe cases, hard and soft tissue augmentation using bone and gum grafting procedures are necessary before placement or at the time of placement of the dental implant.
Comprehensively equipped surgical facilities are essential to success in implant dentistry. Equally important is the knowledge and skill required in prosthodontics to fabricate the restorations and prostheses connected to the dental implants to a high level of precision to ensure success.

Modern Cone Beam Computer Tomography imaging techniques and associated software allow the prosthodontist to analyse and manipulate 3D images of a patient's jaws to simulate dental implant placement and restoration design. This enable the prosthodontist to plan the surgical procedures before executing them.
More sophisticated surgical procedures such as sinus elevation and bone grafting and mandibular nerve lateral repositioning techniques have benefitted greatly from computer simulation software. This provides for more accurate placement of the dental implants.
Intravenous sedation can be provided by an anaesthesiologist at our clinic for those patients who would prefer to dream through the surgical procedures associated with implant dentistry.
Along with tooth loss goes self-esteem and confidence. Implant dentistry can restore aesthetics as well as function. Studies have shown that a healthy teeth and an attractive smile can impove a person's confidence and success in social and business relationships.
